Empathy (1º / 2º Bacharelato)

This activity is meant to identify empathy and empathetic actions. Ask your students to read comics A and B and finish both stories with a short dialogue.

 

When they are finished, elicit their opinions. Look at the girl’s reactions: is she more empathetic in comic A or in comic B? Why do you think that? In which version does the boy feel more comforted? What actions can we take in order to show our empathy to another person? (possible answers: listening, acknowledging the other person’s feeling or concern, showing support, and so on).
